Max is 5 weeks old today and is still at MUSC. I never would've thought he'd be in the hospital this long. But he is gaining weight for his surgery and hopefully will have it soon so he can come home to us!

He had some visitors on Saturday from his cousins and Tai and Mel!

When Max was born he had to have assistance from oxygen almost immediately. Josh was able to hold him shortly before they took him to NICU. I got to see him as well.

Max's helicopter ride, just 24 hours after being born, to MUSC in Charleston.

As of today, Max is still in Charleston. He has been diagnosed with DiGeorge Syndrome. He has several problems including heart, trouble with swallowing, and severe acid reflux. He will have heart surgery around 6-8 months old. Right now he's staying there to gain weight for acid reflux surgery so he can have his G-Tube surgery. It has been an adventure we never knew was coming. Josh and I are trying to stay strong through everything.

Baby update

Last night Josh and I went to the hospital for me to be checked. I was having several contractions. So, just wanted to make sure it wasn't time to deliver. This process of waiting is tearing my nerves up! I'm still just a centimeter and a half dilated. The doctor had me walk the halls for an hour and check me again, with no change. So disappointing. But I'm realizing it's just not time. I'm getting soo impatient, anxious and miserable. The doctor sent us home around 1:30a.m., gave me a sleeping pill to help me rest and she said maybe the contractions will be back within the week and we'll have a baby!

But I've decided to stop thinking about it sooo much and concentrate on the girls and Jordan and have a nice weekend!! Hope everyone does as well...we'll keep ya posted!

We had the girls' 2nd Birthday Party a few weeks ago. It was fun for them, although Laila was in one of her foul moods.

Laila, for the past few weeks, any little thing has been making her ill. It's kinda funny and I can't help but laugh at her. She'll turn her back to you or give you the evil eye if you try to talk to her. As you can see from some of the party pics she was in a mood that day. Having nothing to do with her cake or anyone.

Annie Kate was happy-go-lucky pretty much the whole time. She enjoyed her cake and liked the singing birthday cards.

Stella was hilarious putting on ALL of her presents as they were opened. Bracelets, plastic high heels, Minnie bookbag and hairbows. She was a sight!

Better Late Than Never...

Ok so I've totally missed the whole month of July. But here I am now making myself sit and blog. I have been so tired lately being preggers and all, so when I have free time it usually consist of just sitting down for a breather. This little guy has worn me out. Little Guys name is MAX by the way... Maxwell Joshua Garvin! So Max along with keeping up with the girls has zapped any ounce of energy my body may have.

This post along with others to follow may just consist of pics instead of very much writing. I'm just not in the mood. BUT if you are reading this. Thank you for even taking the time to check out our Blog!!

Today we took the Girls to their first NICU reunion at the Hospital. We had fun seeing the nurses and doctors agian that helped take care of them for their first 4-6 weeks of life.

But most of all it was nice to see and meet the other triplets that were born there. They have had FOUR sets of triplets born there within the past 3 years! I knew of three sets but was surprised to see another set when we arrived. And oddly enough each set of triplets were a different combination of genders...GGG, BBB, BBG, and GGB! It was lots of fun. Can't wait til the next one!!

Wonderful News...

Josh and I went to the Doctor last Friday for our routine ultrasound and check up. Baby was healthy with all limbs, fingers and toes.

While she was performing the ultrasound, Josh saw the boy parts and quickly let the ultrasound tech and myself know that he did! So...at the very end of the ultrasound she confirmed that it was very much a little BOY!!

We took the girls to the Riverbanks Zoo! It was fun but very HOT. I think they liked it. Some of the animals were sleeping so the girls really didn't know what they were looking at. The monkeys were fun because they were loud and swinging from tree to tree! But most of all I think they liked the Merry-Go-Round at the end. Annie Kate DID NOT want to get off.

I was sitting in the playroom with the girls and realized how cute and sweet they looked. So it was a great opportunity to get the camera out and try to catch some of the sweet moments they have as sisters! They are having so much fun interacting with each other nowadays. Even giving each other kisses!

But don't get me wrong, they're having just as many moments taking toys from each other and screaming about it. They do play well together for the most part and I love to just sit and watch them!

The Girls had fun this year hunting eggs. Last year they really couldn't do anything, maybe crawl. So this time they got to run and pick up eggs and put them in their baskets. I think Stella had the most fun, they were all cute but she's so funny. She's been on a kick lately of collecting things and putting them in her bucket so this was right up her alley!

Big News...

I know this is a little late now but...we found out on February 28 that we are having ANOTHER baby! I know. We've lost our minds right?

Well, I always thought it would be cool to have a big family but 5 kids. Woah baby. Diapers and wipes and cribs oh my! We have obviously gotten over the shock of it and are moving on! We are anxious to find out if it's a boy or a girl. We discussed not finding out but I already can't stand not knowing. So I know when I'm on the ultrasound table and she ask me if we wanna know what it is I'm gonna wanna shout OF COURSE!!

Ok so there's some of what's going on in our household.

Oh yeah, I am 14 weeks preggo so far. We'll see if it's BOY or GIRL in June!!!

It was a pretty day outside today. And since we have been stuck in the house for what seems like an eternity, I took the girls out to play.

For the past 4 weeks at least one person in this house has been sick. I am soo over all of this mess. Bring on the bright cheery sunny days!

17 Months Old

They are growing so quickly. I know I say that all the time. But they really are. I don't know where the past 17 months have gone.

They are saying, Mama, Nana, Dada and I have heard Stella say Jordan once. It was so cute. I am kinda worried that they aren't saying more words. Lately they have been doing this thing where it sounds like they are speaking a foreign language. So funny to listen to.

Maybe it will come shortly. Then we'll be wanting to play the quiet game!

Today I had to take our poor little babies to the doctor. They've all had cold-like symptoms with really bad coughing and congestion. Turns out all of them have RSV...and to make it worse Stella has an ear infection in both ears and Annie Kate just one ear :( They are so pitiful.

We are just very thankful they didn't get this last winter. Due to their "preemieness" they may not have survived it.

The doctor said the RSV will probably get worse before it gets better. We are doing antibiotics and breathing treatments around the clock. Keep our little monkeys in your thoughts!!

What to do?

Tonight we are baby free! The girls are spending the night with their Nana for the first time. It is 9 pm and we have nothing to do.

Well, we did have plans tonight. We went to the Chamber of Commerce meeting/dinner at Lander, and we got home earlier than expected. So here we are blogging. It feels so weird to have NO children in the house. I'm really looking forward to sleeping late but most likely I will wake up early anyway. Guess I can take this opportunity to catch up on any Garvin household news. (Not that it's anything exciting)

Jordan will be starting back up with Toros soccer in February. Fun. But a lot of work. Oh and by the way...Josh is officially the Toros president! Yay for him!

The girlies are still crazier than ever. Today I was in the laundry room, had only been in there like 5 seconds, and heard the loudest "thump" ever. So I ran back to the living room and Stella had climbed over the baby gate and fallen onto the hardwood floor. I was so scared for her but mad at her at the same time. I saw her trying to climb out earlier and told her "No, No". Which I'm positive they know what that means. So she definitely knew not to do that. I checked her for bumps or bruises and didn't see any new ones, because they get hurt all the time, but I didn't find any.

16 Months Old

They are 16 months old and as active as ever! I mean into eve.ry.thing. Climbing on anything, opening all cabinets, putting anything in their mouth that they find on the floor. Whew, it's fun and I wouldn't have it any different. But wow, I can honestly say I don't remember Jordan being this active. (I'm sure he was) But then again there was only 1 of him and I was 11 years younger! They are still taking 2 naps a day which is wonderful!

They are also more precious than ever and it's getting more fun and entertaining everyday!

Oh by the way, they are all sick with colds and runny noses hence the rosy cheeks and nasty noses. :(

Snow!

We were so tired on Christmas Day night we went to bed pretty early. It was rainy when we got in bed and I knew they *said* it was going to snow but I didn't believe it. So we woke up very surprised to see the ground COVERED in snow!!! We took the girls out to play in it after lunch. Stella isn't a fan of touching things she's not sure about. For instance, when she wants to touch the cat she leans in and touches it with her head?! She did the same thing with the Christmas tree. It's really funny to watch. Anyway, so she didn't really touch the snow. Annie Kate and Laila liked it I think. AK liked it when her Daddy would pull the wagon in the snow because it made a loud crunching noise as the snow was piling up under the wheels! She laughed so hard.

I finally have a chance to put some Christmas pics on here. We had so much fun with the girls and Jordan. They all got lots and lots of STUFF! Our house is bursting at the seams with toys. Of course, it's all the girls stuff. Jordan gets small expensive things nowadays. The girlies loved unwrapping presents and the boxes and the tissue paper. It was fun. But sure glad we can kinda settle down now.

Our tree this year! The big debate this year was real or artifcial tree?! We ended up getting a real tree, as we normally do, but were unsure of how the girls would do with it. But we put it on the outside of their "cage" in the living room so they can't reach it. It has worked out well so far and I love it! The girls like all of the Christmas lights around the house. I am soo excited about Christmas, it's my favorite time of year!!!

"Lone Stella"

So the other day Stella woke up from her nap way earlier than the other girls. I think she's found out how to get one on one Mommy time. Anyway, I let her roam the house because the girls are never able to do that. I thought it would be interesting to follow her with the camera to see where she would go. She had fun exploring the "forbidden places" in the house! She played in the drawers in the kitchen, pulled the safety latch off the cabinet door, went to Brother's room, climbed the stairs etc.

By the way, it was one of those days where we stay in our PJ's all day! And her hair is beginning to hang in her eyes but she HATES hair bows, as you can see she throws them in the floor. I always thought if I ever had a little girl I was gonna keep cute bows in her hair and fix it so cute everyday. Yeah right, that's much harder to do when you have 3 of them pulling bows out. I have to pick my battles and that's just not one of them!

Stella and Annie Kate have learned how to climb up to the window and sit/stand there! They are everywhere now and not afraid of anything. I thought I had them contained with the gates but every now and then I find them roaming the house. They keep plotting escape routes. They're already ganging up on me! What an Exciting Day!

I have been looking forward to today all week. We bought the girls Christmas present, early I know, but I had to get it. We got them the cutest wagon. In the triplet world these things are apparently like gold. They stopped production on them a few years ago and people were selling them on Ebay for like $400-500!! After lots of begging from moms of multiples all over the world, including myself, Step 2 decided to begin producing the Choo Choo wagon again!!! It's scary how excited I am about this...oh well...nobody is raining on my parade today! I've been tracking this darn wagon on FedEx.com so I knew it was coming today and I had to work, what a bummer! I know you guys really care to hear about all of this! So here they are helping Daddy put it together. By the time he got done it was getting dark, so we didn't have much time to play.

My second exciting event...WELCOME TO MOE'S. Yes I cannot believe it. Greenwood finally has one of it's very own and I got to go on a very special lunch date with my husband today! It was soo good.

Lastly...so I made the girls more pillowcase dresses and took them to be monogrammed. The lady called and lets me know they are ready but ask if she can display them at the "Girls Night Out" event tonight at Tower Pointe. She was a vendor there and was going to be displaying lots of other items as well. But that just made me feel so good, I will have to get some pictures of the girls in their dresses for everyone to see. Mom and I went tonight to check it out and had a good time. My dresses looked so cute on display..hehehe :)

Okay. I'm just gonna go ahead and call it walking. Not walking/running like Stella...just taking a few steps. It's progress. I was getting a little worried about Annie Kate and Laila not trying to walk but I guess they're just taking their time. Stella was in a hurry to do everything first. I will post a video of Laila as soon as I can.

Annie Kate has made some progress by standing alone and she may take one step but immediately sits down. We'll keep ya posted though, I'm sure she won't be too far behind.

Yesterday I got the girls all dressed up to go to their cousin Haden's football game. I knew it was getting chilly outside and it looked like it may rain but we went anyway. So by the time we got there it was drizzling rain and cold and windy! This is that time of year where it may be 100 degrees one day but the next it's freezing outside. So anyway, we got there but didn't even get out of the car. Then when I get back home realize that they are too cute with their new jeans on. So I had to take some pictures! By the way, Haden won his game and Melissa said they were shivering cold even covered up with blankets!

2010 Mud Run

Today Josh and I participated in the USMC Mud Run, in Columbia, along with Tai and Mel. It was brutal and unlike anything I have ever done. I am proud to say I DID IT!! I am very much sort of a neat freak and am a little weird about like dirt and stuff, so this was a challenge in so many ways. Mel did a great job, she is in much better shape than I am. It was a little over 4 miles long with 30 something obstacles...and filled with mud...lots of mud. I actually thought I was going to die. It was way harder than childbirth, but we did it. We just have some scrapes, bruises and are very sore. We'll see how we feel tomorrow. Oh yeah and they had a smaller kids course so Jordan got to do that one. I had fun doing it, it was definately an experience I won't forget. Now I can say I have done it!

Soccer Time

Jordan had his very first Toros game last Saturday. He scored 2 goals!! We are so proud of him.

It felt like it was 110 degrees outside. The girls cheered for their big brother! Stella had fun walking around like a big girl.

12 Month Old Check Ups!

With the girls turning the big ONE, they had to have check ups and the dreaded shots. It's hard enough taking one child to the doctor for shots much less 3. We had to call on my Granny for back up so we could actually talk to the doctor. Glad we did, she was a big help!

So, here is an update on height and weights:

Annie Kate ~ 19 lbs even and 28.5 inches tall (she beat Laila on height).

Laila ~ 19lbs 3oz (she's determined not to let A.K. catch up) and 27.5 inches tall.

Stella ~ *drumroll please* 13lbs 15oz and 27 inches tall.

They all had a good check up except for Annie Kate. Turns out she has an ear infection and I didn't even know. Man. I'm a bad Mamma. The big girls can begin drinking whole milk but Stella has to stay on that very expensive high calorie formula for now.

I think the girls had fun at their party! This picture must have been taken the the one second they actually participated in the opening of gifts. They would have rather migrated around the living room. Otherwise it was up to Jordan, Samantha and myself to open EVERY gift! They got so much stuff...Christmas will have nothing on their bday party.

Happy Birthday Annie Kate, Laila and Stella!!!

Dear Girls,

I am writing this through the tears in my eyes. It's hard to believe that you are one today. We actually took you girls back to the NICU for a visit on Monday and that brought back so many memories for Mommy. Just seeing the nurses and hearing the noises of the machines again made me realize how far you girls have come. That is where ya'll spent the first weeks of your life. Annie Kate and Laila had to stay 4 weeks and Stella, you had to stay 6 weeks. That was so scary for Mommy and Daddy to see our sweet little babies like that. You girls have been so strong.

Now you are one year old and are just as busy as can be!

Stella~You are walking everywhere now. You are so fiesty and full of energy...watch out sisters! You have 2 bottom teeth and they look so cute. I love how excited you get when you see me walk in your room first thing in the morning. You are saying Dada a whole bunch...no Mama yet, but I know it's coming.

Annie Kate~You are my quite little girl until meltdown time each night around 7:00. You always have a cute little grin on your face. As for your teeth you have a total of 7 teeth!!! You don't really like walking, just standing and holding on for right now. You LOVE food and making loud grunting noises when I don't feed you fast enough. I love it how excited you also get when I walk into the room.

Laila~You are so easy going and laid back. You are very tender hearted and don't really like having strangers talk to you. I love the way you also get so excited to see Mommy or Daddy walk in the room. Lately you have been crawling in my lap while the other girls play and I love it. You aren't a big fan of walking yet either just standing. You have 3 little teeth on bottom, so cute when you smile.

Mommy and Daddy want you girls to know how much fun this past year has been. It has gone by much faster than I thought. We love you girls so very much and are so lucky that God chose us to be your parents. We are so proud of you!!!

So I'm always saying to myself that I need to write down all of the comments I get when we take the girls in public. Some of them are a little annoying and others leave me puzzled.

1) Do I watch Jon and Kate?

2) Are they twins? I actually told a lady that asked this they were triplets and she wanted to argue with me that they don't look alike so they could'nt be!?! Okay lady I don't think it's possible for me to have given birth to childern so close in age...just not possible. By the way she didn't think Stella belonged to the group, sorry Stinky.

3) Oh my goodness Quadruplets! Yes someone really said this at WalMart the other day. Me with a confused look on my face and counting how many children I have in the buggy, said umm Triplets??

4) Are they natural? They all wanna know if we used pills, fertility treatments etc. I really wanna say "Why yes they are, they should go down after I stop breastfeeding. Oh you mean the babies. My bad!" *Got this from another triplet mommy, thought it was hilarious.* But this is the #1 question that annoys me so badly.

5) You have your hands full! Umm, yes I know that already.

6) God bless you! Yes he does everyday. I actually had a mom of twin girls at the Haywood Mall last weekend shout this out as we were strolling by.

7) My husband would have left me. I overheard a lady at the mall tell her freind that after she had just came over and asked all of the above questions. She might want to reevaluate her relationship with her husband if that's the case.

8) I would shoot myself. Really now?! This one was a bold statement and I wish I remember where I was when I heard it. But I have heard it and that's scary.

Anyhow, most people are polite and just say, aww how cute, but there are a few that just don't care what they say. Despite the comments it can be fun to take them out, I should just enjoy the attention but sometimes you just want to go about your business like normal folk. :)~

Well, tomorrow is one week until our little monkeys turn one! Can't wait!!

I realized I haven't posted about Jordan playing Toros Soccer yet. He is excited about being on the team and is ready for the games to start. They've been practicing twice a week, games start mid September and all are in Columbia! This should be fun with the girls tagging along. I think we're going to try and take all the kiddos to the Riverbanks Zoo while we're in the area. I'll keep ya'll posted!

THEN, there is football season starting this weekend. I can hardly contain myself! I feel a lot of shopping trips coming up for the girls and I. The boys are going to the Carolina game this Thursday. Jordan's on cloud nine!

I haven't blogged (is that even a word) in a while so I thought I'd update on some things that are going on. I'm not sure if I would call Stella a walker yet but she has taken some steps here and there, no more than 2. Well, today at my Granny's she took 4 steps!!! We all just happened to be looking. I felt tears coming in my eyes. She is so small, actually the size of most 4 mth olds, but she is so full of energy. I can't believe they are on the verge of walking.

Annie Kate and Laila have a little cold with runny noses. They are so pitiful. I hope this isn't a sign of what is to come in the winter! Three sick babies can't be fun, but I know it's bound to happen.

Our house is a wreck right now. I have so many projects lined up in my head. We are turning our office/spare bedroom into the girls playroom. They need more space than what they have now for all of their "things". Plus with their birthday coming up I know it will triple in size. Another thing we are doing is staining a new kitchen table and painting chairs. Luckily Josh's dad took over the staining part for me! So, we are kinda rearranging our kitchen to fit the needs of 6 family members.

Well, the girls turned 11 months yesterday. This time last year I was scared out of my mind. Thinking about the delivery, how small our babies would be, NICU and just how our life would change in general. I was also on bedrest this time last year. I thought that was the most horrible thing...poor Josh had to constantly tell me to get back in bed. I would give anything for somebody to tell me to go lay down now!

Anyway, we took some pictures yesterday in the backyard. They were a little ill, I think because they are teething and Laila didn't like the grass on her feet. Big bro was in the background making funny faces and noises to make them smile.

Today is our 3rd wedding anniversary! This is so cheesy I know, but we have been through some crazy things. I think if we can survive this past year especially, we can do anything. We are such a team and I just want Josh to know how much I love him and need him. We built our house shortly after getting married then had the struggles of a triplet pregnancy. Talk about stressful! We have been put to the test for sure. Anyway, I just want to let Josh know that I can't be happier with our life and family. I am surely one of the luckiest girls in the world. Happy Anniversary sweetie. I am looking forward to so many more.

We went swimming yesterday at Tammy's pool. The girls really liked the water. Stella was trying to climb out of the float the whole time...crazy girl! Laila and Annie Kate were drinking the water. So, we were highly entertained in the pool to say the least!

Time is flying by. It's crazy how many things they learn to do between the ages of 9 months and a year. The girls are crawling everywhere, Stella can pull up to a standing position and the "big" girls can pull up on their knees. They are so fun to just sit and watch. Stella will not be still at anytime, when we go to a restaurant she will climb out of the high chair even when we strap her in tightly! Laila and Annie Kate are pretty good girls and sit there. They all can say "dada", and I have heard Laila say "mama" once. It made me feel really good even though she has no idea who "mama" is! Anyway, we are trying to enjoy these times with them while they are itty bitty because I know they grow up so fast!

We all survived the beach. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! The girls enjoyed it, I think! Laila seemed to like it the first day but not so much the second go round. She was screaming at the sight of the waves as I was trying to get some pics then Josh was like "get her she's putting sand in her mouth!!" It was interesting to say the least. They did eat lots of sand and Stella almost swallowed a shell, but she survived. Jordan and Josh got to enjoy the ocean for a little bit. I kinda hung around the sand with the girls, which is okay with me. Here are some of the pictures I managed to get! Enjoy!

Okay so, I thought I was ready to start planning the girls party until I realized...I have to pack for the beach! We are leaving this Friday morning for Charleston. This is supposed to be a vacation right? Well, I am already stressing out over every little detail. Maybe my OCD kicking into over drive...but my life is fairly hectic minus a beach trip with triplets plus one. I should probably go ahead and apologize to my husband in advance for my need to have everything "just right", I will try to do good honey. So today we have been on the go...I took Jordan and the girls swimming at Susan's pool. Then Josh and I took them Uptown this evening for "Gamecock Day" by the topiary. A few football players and cheerleaders were there along with Heisman trophy winner, George Rogers. Jordan got some autographs and the girls met Cocky for the first time! Stella was not happy! Whew...what a day. : )

I have been wanting to start our family a blog for a long time, especially since the girls have been born. We finally did it...since I'm not so great with the computer this should be interesting. I will have to post some pics as soon as I learn how!
